Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction for diverse learning levels, including special education and IEP needs
Assess student progress through regular assignments, tests, and educational evaluations
Maintain accurate records in BestNotes, including weekly updates to grades and behavior notes
Develop and implement support plans for students earning below a C-
Provide individualized feedback and incorporate Relational DBT techniques into teaching practices
Maintain organized curriculum files with lesson plans, activities, and assessments
Communicate weekly with parents regarding academic performance
Attend weekly staff and treatment team meetings to share updates on student progress and behavior
Monitor student safety through weekly review of level systems and respond as needed
Collaborate with school districts, educational consultants, and core teachers to support interventions
Serve as an academic advisor and actively participate in the S&A L10 team
Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth
Utah State Secondary Education (6–12) Teaching Certificate with English Endorsement, or actively pursuing certification
Strong understanding of subject matter, effective teaching strategies, and Special Education procedures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging with students, families, and colleagues
Ability to adapt instruction for a wide range of academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
Demonstrated flexibility, professionalism, and responsiveness to student-related challenges
Familiarity with educational documentation systems (e.g., BestNotes) and basic computer proficiency
Proven skills in planning, organization, and task management
Knowledge of school policies and procedures relevant to student development and safety
Teaching experience beyond student teaching preferred
Available to work a year-round schedule (225 days)
