• Night Watch Shift: 11:00pm - 7:00am
• Schedules: Choose between Sunday–Tuesday or Thursday–Saturday, with every other Wednesday included.

At Sunrise, we help adolescent teens and gender-diverse youth unlock their full academic, emotional, and social potential. Many of our students are navigating challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, and attachment issues. As a Youth Mentor, you'll play a vital role in their journey by building authentic relationships, modeling healthy behaviors, and guiding them through day-to-day experiences with empathy and structure.

Our program is built on Relational Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and we integrate its principles into every aspect of care. You’ll receive ongoing training and support to use these skills as you help students apply them in real-time—during meals, activities, study sessions, and therapeutic groups.

• Guide students through their daily routines with structure, encouragement, and consistency
• Partner with therapists to implement individualized treatment plans and interventions
• Communicate observations and updates clearly to the treatment team
• Keep detailed, timely records and documentation of student progress
• Maintain a safe, supportive environment and use proactive crisis prevention skills
• Model healthy behaviors and values while building trust and setting clear boundaries
• Participate in group sessions and bonding activities to foster connection and growth
• Support basic housekeeping tasks to keep the home environment clean and organized
• Assist with meal prep and encourage balanced, healthy eating habits
• Create and maintain a positive, respectful atmosphere for students and peers

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Age 21+ with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful, healthy relationships
• A positive role model who can teach and reinforce core values
• Calm under pressure with skills in de-escalation and crisis response
• Physically able to safely support or restrain students when necessary
• CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
• Able to pass a Utah State background check
• Food Handler’s Permit (or willingness to get one before starting)
